Tallahassee

Living in Tallahassee, Florida’s Capital city is a real pleasure.  We have rolling hills, beautiful Centennial Oak Trees which are draped with Spanish Moss.  When driving through the area you’ll go through canopy roads that bring you back in time to a period when the area was settled by Conquistadores from Spain.

As the Capital, Tallahassee is the seat of government for the state being headquarters for many government offices.  We are also proud to be the home of Florida State University (FSU Seminoles) and Florida Agriculture and Mechanics University (FAMU Rattlers).  During football, basketball and baseball seasons, we definitely have a spirited city.  Besides the two major universities, Tallahassee is home to several community colleges and technical colleges.

The climate in the big bend of Florida is nearly ideal with long warm summers and short winters.  We do experience seasonal changes, but not as dramatic as other areas further north from Tallahassee.  We are thirty five minutes from the “Forgotten Coast” of the Gulf of Mexico, where the water is warm and the fishing is fantastic.  If fishing isn’t your outdoors activity, take advantage of the many hiking, biking or horseback riding trails throughout the area or enjoy a day in the National Forest or a day trip visiting the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge and watch wildlife such as alligators, deer, black bear, raccoons and hundreds of species of birds which are part of the real Florida along with the various state parks including Wakulla Springs and Maclay Gardens

Overall there are tons of things to occupy your leisure times and plenty of opportunity to find meaningful employment in a wonderful part of the state.
